How You Can Repurpose Already Existing Content Into Videos

Videos

Need videos for your social media marketing endeavors? You may be able to repurpose already-existing content to fit the bill.

Anyone with even a passing interest knows that content is king, and the king of all kings is video content. Written content is often informational and essential to SEO, but videos are what truly draws in engagement and increases brand awareness. It also just so happens to be one of the most difficult kinds of content to create, as it requires a number of different skills, from filming, to editing, to scripting, and even graphic design. As a result, working with video is intimidating for a lot of people. The good news is that with a few tweaks and creative thinking, you can repurpose content you’ve already created into videos that are perfect for branding yourself.

Using Testimonials

It’s not uncommon for a client to send an email with some positive feedback or say something kind about your work over the phone. Testimonials are a great reaffirmation that you’re doing your job well, but they can also be used as a source of content. Don’t be afraid to ask a client if they’d be okay with giving an honest testimonial over a phone call and you recording it for a quick Facebook video. Alternatively, if you’re meeting face-to-face with a client, bring a camera with you and capture actual footage.

Make Blogs Into Slideshow Videos

If you’re already pushing out blog content, it’s fairly easy to chop up the big bullet points of your argument and twist that content into a video. All you need is some engaging background music and a couple of visuals to go with it and you’ve got easy video content that you’re ready to push out into the world. This is an especially fantastic method if you think some of what you’re putting into your blogs is valuable information but it isn’t getting the engagement you want out of it.

Take Advantage of Webinars or Training Videos

Any internal videos you have—for educating staff or webinars meant for specific clients—often contain useful information that might be relevant to your general audience as well. While the format of these kinds of videos isn’t typically suitable for Facebook or Instagram, going in and chopping that content up makes it just right for social media. Remember: short videos often perform better than longform content these days.
